We have designated $500,000 from our 2009 WHR campaign to be sent immediately to our World Food Programme partners to support the relief efforts in Haiti.
Many of you have asked how you personally can help as well. There are several ways you can do this.
- You can make a personal donation by going to www.yum.com and click on the Haiti relief banner which will link you to the World Food Programme site; or through www.redcross.org and click on the donate now button, selecting international relief. You may also call 1-800-REDCROS (1-800-733-2767) to donate domestically.
- We have also been asked by the Red Cross to host blood drives in the March/April time-frame when current supplies will begin to diminish – more information will be
sent out at a later date on how you can participate in this way. In the meantime,
if you wish to donate blood now, you can go to the Red Cross global website at RedCrossBlood.org or contact your local Red Cross Chapter to schedule an appointment in your area.
- We are also going to collect donations of clothing, blankets and sanitary items all around the globe and we’ll be asking our World Hunger Relief Ambassadors in every one of our RSC’s and BMU/FBU’s to help us get these items to those who need it most in Haiti. More information on the specifics of the collections will be sent out by your local contacts.
As in the past with other world disasters, we have demonstrated with our actions how we are
a Company With A Huge Heart. Thanks for your intentionality now to support those in need in Haiti.
